Agree 100%

I love the aspect ratio and I think Google is taking the wrong page from competitors in changing to their aspect.

What's great about this phone is how often you *don't have to* unfold it. The extra screen real estate is nice when you need it and gone when you don't.

I get what you are saying but I don't 100% agree. Having a normal sized outer display is preferable to me since I don't use the inner screen that often. If I need a better look at a web site or want to watch a video or look at pictures the inner screen is great. Most of my usage is still the outer screen. The original Fold with the shorter outer screen gave away too much north/south real estate for me.

I totally disagree and it's why I ended up getting the one plus open.. and so happy with the device... I first went to the fold.. picked it up... immediately put it back down!! Too short and too fat .. hate the aspect ratio...

Also don't like the Samsung ..to talk and Skinny... But the Open...to me, was and is the best of all the foldable...the only thing about the fold, you can't ignore the beautiful stock software...other than that..will not give it a second thought or look.... Just my opinion

I and the first three Samsung Folds and yeah those were far too thin and tall so using it close was practically useless. Couldn't even text and it's not like I have fat fingers either

The Google Fold was much better IMHO especially the front screen since I was able to do more with it. Both were very useful when open with its screen size and the conscience of not having to need a tablet. That went to the younger kiddo. I'm moving on and away from any Fold since it's gotten old open and closing it for me.

We'll see what comes next ?

I disagree, it was probably the worst fold I've ever seen! It's too wide and too short. The Pixel 9 fold is almost dear I say perfect. I have the OnePlus open, fold 6, Pixel 9 fold, my biggest gripe with the Pixel is charging speed and the cameras being meh but I expected that! The first fold should have never been sold it's that bad!

Now in retrospect the first Samsung Fold was pretty bad. I hated the front screen since it was so thin but it really hasn't changed that much with the newer variants???

But as much as useless as it was, I gotta admit it was nice using since it unmmmm FOLDED!!?? The amount of convos and compliments I got out of the blue that were started and given was more than any other cell I had. Can't lie

Disagree. The front display is much nicer on the 9 Pro Fold and the inner display, while of a more square-ish aspect ratio, is still larger overall by a significant margin. If one can’t stand to look at occasional black bars, that’s a you problem more than a device problem. And poor app layout is either a Google or developer problem.

I find the new 9PF much more pleasant of a user experience.

One more example is Discord, which is generally a terrible app to use on book-style folding phones because it's so darn buggy.

Try being a Linux user xD

That is something I think should be the default behaviour though... treat the inside screen as a tablet, and if possible try to use a tablet aspect ratio on the inner screen.
