I know the 3d is out the door not even a yr old, i am disgusted as much you guys are, i love my 3D haven't had any problems with it just the lack of 3D content. I have HTC watch app and i purchased one 3D movie but don't have anything worthwile. Transformers - Tron Legacy most current films on the market. Contacted HTC about my frustration and all they said was that they do not make the movies and an outside company does it, no help whatsoever, they just had all the excuses in the book. My question to you guys, any place or app i can use to get 3D movies?

People here have asked this several times but I haven't seen any 3D movies you can download and put onto your phone so far. Someone else might have had better luck though.

Yeah, this has come up a few times. Youtube 3D videos work well, but in terms of real movies, I don't know of a source. I think I once saw someone say that they were able to rip a 3D BluRay or something, but I'm not sure.

That it does but honestly the 3D is just a fun diversion that you screw around with for a few minutes from time to time but I got this phone for its awesome specs and I'm still super-happy with it.

Also, a 3D BluRay? O.o Now THAT I wanna see. haha

Agreed. The 3D is a gimmick (at least to me). I played with it a lot when I first got the phone, but I never do now.

What do you mean???

The 3D is hardly the main reason I got this phone, it has so much else going for it.

Also I mean that I find it pretty crazy that someone managed to rip a 3D BluRay and put it on their phone. (If it's even true. Which I doubt.)

I rip 3d Blurays to put on my phone all the time...once u take out extra audio files, and the special features, then down convert the movie to the correct resolution and do some tweaking they r amazing.....also ^^^^^^^^^^^^ good advice!

Interesting. You should make/post a tutorial on that. haha

Sick-Flix.com has every single 3D movie ever made specifically encoded only for the HTC EVO 3D, its like heaven for your 3D device. They have been making movies since the phone came out and offer 500 Titles. its disgustingly abundant with 3D content.

Yes an entire 3D bluray can look AWESOME on the phone when its done right, check that site out, youll be glad you did!

I joined Sick-Flix.com about four weeks ago. I have since downloaded and watched Batman, Captain America, and an IMAX movie shot underwater. The videos are in 3D .mp4 with good audio quality and they fill the entire display. The videos work on the HTC player and the MX Pro.

I think its an awesome place to get 3D content.

I did get an HTC adapter with HDMI and the movies look great on two different HD televisions I currently use.

Sick-Flix.com is a horrible place. You can't get access to all the movie "torrents" without paying a donation fee.

One thing to keep in mind... you don't need movies that are 3d for evo 3d, you just need a 3d movie. Luckly unlike images, there is only 1 true 3d format for pc use, and that is side by side versions of movies. Any 3d movie you will find on pc, either in mkv or mp4 format are side by side. I am totally ignoring anagrams of course. Now to find these... well there is good and there is bad. The good news is you can find blueray rips of movies in 3d all over the torrent sites. The bad news is they are almost always 1080p since 720p is pretty bad for 3d on large TVs, A lot of detail is lost squeezing 2 images into 720p. IF by chance the 1080p video file is compressed in a way that the evo 3d can use hardware decoding then it might be possible to do a straight copy and play of it (although a 1080p 3d movie is going to be 15+ gigs). Otherwise you will have to do a resize and recompress of the entire movie down to 720p or 540p.

This could lead to some issues, I am not sure what method the evo 3d uses to detect 3d video files. As we have seen on youtube, the low bitrate version of videos it plays over 3g have been known to cause the device not to initiate 3d mode because it cannot detect the center line for side by side video streams. Resizing down properly might be an issues, I have not worked with 3d editing yet. I do know sony vegas will handle editing and compressing of 3d videos though.
