EVO 3D memory usage and smartbench tests

Hey guys,

I got the evo3d last week and its good so far, but i go into task manager and it says
I have a total of 803 mb
and that iam using 439 with 364 free and no apps running.
I thought the Evo 3d had a gb of ram?

Also, i did smartbench tests and my scores were horrible! under 1000 for games and under 2000 for processes,

Whats wrong???

Dissapointed with the smartbench test as well. Out of the 800mb ram you can only free up to 400 and that's just how it is. Until we get custom roms of course.

But why are my test so bad ? Its hardware is amazing.

I thought i had a gb of ram though, only 803??

Any other Evo 3d users out there that can submit there ram totals would be great!

I don't think task manager reports an accurate number for the ram. If you go into manage applications, at the bottom that shows you what's used and whats free along with the processes running. I have around 5-600 sometimes. Also, remember that 1GB doesnt mean 1000mb it's actually 1024mb and that the actual amount available for use to begin with is less than that around 866 due to the way memory is measured. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mebibyte

you need RAM reserved for the Kernel, the GPU, and the Radio. What's left after that is for the OS.

The scores are low because of the async CPU arch. Don't worry about benchmarks if it does what you need it to do

There are a lot of threads on here about both questions you had, just use the search box. There is a thread under RAM usage you should look at. As for benchmarks I don't care for them, they aren't yet reliable for dual-core devices and they don't measure normal day to day usage which is all I really care about. Numbers don't tell the whole story.
