EVO 3D + PdaNet and USB driver issues

I have successfully installed and used the PdaNet program on my Dell desktop running XP Pro w/SP3 and HTC EVO 3D. When I disconnect my phone and later reconnect to access the internet, the program doesn't recognize my phone. I have then successfully reinstalled the program and it would work fine. Now, as I try to reinstall it again, I get through Installing USB driver , Setting up network driver, then when it gets to 'Installing PdaNet to your phone', the error message: "Install to phone failed - Installer fail to open device\" and the program then self uninstalls. I have USB debugging activated, USB tethering as my default connection type, and check after connecting USB cable during the installation that USB tethering is recognized on my phone [under wireless & networks].
I have tried the help suggestion provided on the PdaNet website:

"On the computer try to reinstall with the following build instead and see if it fixes the issue: 32 bit or 64 bit"
but that doesn\'t work. I have checked my Device Manager, but no \"Android ADB Inteface\" is listed.

Under the help paragraph on the PdaNet website:
"Sometimes if USB debugging is checked but there is still no "Android ADB Inteface" listed when phone is attached or if there is a driver error, your system may need the official USB driver for some reason. If that is the case, install one of the following drivers on your computer first", but only a Driver for LG Android Phones is listed, not one for HTC.
What seems weird to me is that it will work great a couple of times, but now it won't.
I have even tried completly removing the folder from the program files on my computer after it uninstalls, and rebooted my phone - even removing the battery. The last time it worked was yesterday, for 3 hours, then I went out, took my phone with me, and when I tried to reconnect, the nightmare started all over again. Please help me resolve this, as I know the program works great and have recommended it to my friends. I purchased the license for full functionallity and am looking forward to using it again...

Thanks for your help,
-Peter-

Have you tried installing the official HTC drivers, not the ones from PDAnet?

To expand on newboyx's post, install HTC Sync onto your pc. If you plan on using Sync, leave it installed. If not, uninstall. You will still have the EVO 3D drivers. I had to reinstall Sync to get the drivers because my pc wouldn't recognize the 3D even though I also have an EVO 4G.

I have both, Try Easy Tether pro it works a little better and its reliable. I also use "Automateit" to automate the 3g connection and you should check "stay awake" in Developer options under settings to keep your CPU awake during connection. This will stablize your connection. Automateit allows you to automate a lot of different functions on your phone I use it for a lot of things as well as automating the 3g connection to come on with the usb connection as the trigger. This insures a connection as long as the USB connection is there making it more stable.
