evo charger

Page 170 of the manual:

NOTE:
This product is intended for use with a certified Class 2 Limited Power Source, rated 5 Volts, DC, maximum 1 Amp power supply unit.

So structure saying that it will limit it 1A as not charge or just has a buffer that won't allow it to damage. It was a question... sorry I was typing on my evo

I would bet, purely educated conjecture, that the 800 mA will work to charge, just a little slower. I would not want to attempt to go past the 1A it ships with though.

I've been using the Pre's charger & car charger with no problem. The charger that I got with the free Bluetooth from Best Buy won't work with it though.

The Plantronics BT earpiece charger is 180mA.

The EVO Charger is 1000mA (1amp)

I hope i got my terminology right!

I haven't even taken the Evo charger out of the box yet. Just been using my Pre charger.

that's awesome that the pre chargers work. 3 months ago, when I thought my pre was awesome and I'd keep it for awhile, I bought 6 or 7 chargers. I was hoping I wouldn't have to reinvest.

the reason I wondered though is because I have a monster usb ipod car charger that I thought would charge my pre...it wouldn't. It tried but the phone actually used more power sitting there than the charger would provide. It must be a lower mah charger.

FYI, I use my iPhone wall charger (white cube one), and it's rated at 5v / 1A as well. So it's perfectly fine..
