Didn't see this anywhere or with a search, but the Evo is now free at Best Buy for new or upgrading customers. BB salespeople were really pushing it at our store when I was there yesterday, saying it was their best deal.

Sent from my Evo - so there!

*With new 2-year contract - that means it's not for an upgrade

My understanding is that a new line with 2 yr contract is the exact same as upgrading and signing a 2 year contract. So same price either way

I'm hoping you are right. I hate it that these companies sometimes offer better deals for new customers than they do for existing customers. It is like they want you to switch carriers every 2 years.

For instance, when I upgrade to the 3D AND sign a 2 yr contract it will be $199, the same price as if an entirely new customer signed up for one

Edit: when upgrading you do have the choice of a one year contract extension, but the savings are significantly less. 2 yr contract means nothing to me, I plan on staying sprint. Plus with my gold status I qualify for a full upgrade every year at the cheap price

Unfortunately that is not correct. A NEW 2 year contract is different than an upgrade 2 year contract. They offer better deals to entice new customers to come to Sprint (most carriers do this). You can see this on wirefly, your options are "new 2 yr" "upgrade 2 yr" and "upgrade 1 yr" and sometimes they will be 3 different prices.

Probably true at a third party retailer, but at Sprint 2 years is the same either way
