evo hdmi help

Got a evo with the hdmi cable and it don't matter what tv I hook it up to as soon as I power on the tv per the instructions it shut my phone off then goes into a reboot and locks up to the point of having to remove the battery. Anyone have any suggestions .

I had a similar problem with my amzer hdmi cable. Phone locks up. Sprint cable works great though.
