Evo, HTC sync, Lotus Notes 8.5, windows 7

I have done a ton of searching and have seen others with similar issues but no answers......

I have the configuration listed in the subject.
Trying to sync the calendar ONLY from Windows 7, Lotus Notes 8.5 to an EVO via the HTC sync. I am running Sync ver 2.0.40 (the newest I could find)

Like others, I can sync occasionally, but eventually 1 of 2 errors happens.
Either sync fails to connect between the devices, OR I get constant errors on the device and the sync fails.

In both cases, I can uninstall HTC sync, reinstall, reboot, reboot the Evo, reconfigure and sync, but the cycle repeats after 3-4 syncs. This is VERY frustrating.
I have tried ensuring that I always close HTC sync and relaunch as Administrator, and this does NOT help.
Does anyone have a solution, or better yet, a seperate sync app that can do just the calendar. (Note: do NOT want to pay more than $5...I know there is an app out there that runs about $60, but not interested in that!!)

We use an older version of Notes, so my only option is third party sync software. I am near the end of my 30-day trial period with AweSync, and will definitely buy it ($19.99). It syncs calendar, contacts, and tasks.

Believe me, if I had anything to do with the decision we would have moved on! It also ties us to Blackberry.

I use Companionlink with Notes and Android and sync with my Google Calendar. Try that.
