Reboots during use, now in loop
A while back I was using my Evo in the car, turn by turn via Google Nav. It rebooted 10 or 15 minutes in. Got into a reboot loop and never got out of it. I noticed at the time that the battery area was majorly hot, but i chalked that up to Google Nav just draining the battery extra fast, like it does.
So unable to get it out of the reboot loop I poked around places like this and the consensus seemed to be to factory reset it. That fixed it, I guess...
That was about 6 weeks ago.
Now it's rebooting during uh...normal use. I've had about 3 or 4 reboots looking at pictures. Last night it reset while I was zooming into a picture then again while surfing the web. Last week it rebooted while I was moving around in Google Maps (with the GPS off). Tonight...3 crashes - 2 while playing Air Control, 1 while just trying to open a picture. The last one put it into an infinite loop - again which is where it still is. A few reboots back it also got into a loop, but it seemed to work itself out of it after 4 or 5 cycles.
Before I factory reset it, again, uh... yeah, should I try taking it to Sprint? What can I expect? "Let us look at it for 3 weeks" ? What are the odds I can just get a replacement (and not a refurb) model?
Not rooted. All the latest updates. No task killer installed. Just some basic apps, I don't game on it much, basically just that Air Control thing. Gmail, Facebook, Twitter... random web surfing etc. I do connect to Exchange 2007 but I only need a pattern unlock method.
I do have "total equipment protection" or whatever they call it these days.
Thanks in advance for any advice...
