There's no Evo killer out yet, just like there's not an iPhone killer.

Next question...

How do you know that there will be an EVO 2?

Why are you people so stuck on the Epic? Are you kidding me, do you hear how crazy you sound talking about a Evo Killer. They can't keep the phone in stock more then a hour, not everybody wants a phone for pure gaming. A lot of people, yes A lot, want a phone with a nice size, 4.3 screen, and no keyboard. Just because you and others want the epic just because it can perform a little better for games, does not mean everybody else does. Most people just do regular things with there phone and play small games like poker or solitaire. Lol wow the closer the Epic is getting to its released the more I keep seeing these which one is better threads.

lol...

I don't even have a desire to test or play with an Epic when it hits the market. I was an iPhone user for 2 years and I knew the new iPhone was coming and I still jumped ship... I have yet to play with an iPhone 4 and I have 2 friends now with one. I even went to dinner with one guy and another friend (who has the original Motorola Droid) said lets test your iPhone 4 against the EVO and he flat out said "NO, he has 4G it's not even fair." I didn't even have the heart to tell him there is no advertised 4G in Nashville....

The only thing that interest me on the Epic is the DNLA feature since I have 2 Samsung LED, TV's that have WiFi and DNLA built in... But even then I couldn't see that being a regular every day use on my phone unless you can use the phone as a remote for the TV, Cable Box and Surround sound system..

When they throw those features out on a phone that would be an awesome deal.

Other than that I am 100% happy with my EVO and will be for at least the next year.. I figure by Christmas when the rumored dual core phones start hitting and processor speeds start pushing 1.5 and up I will start to get jealous and envy another phone.. But basically every thing that has hit the market lately (on the high end smart phone platform) are all 1 ghz and all have 3.7 - 4.3 inch screens.... Your talking very little difference between the EVO, Motorola Droid X, Motorola Droid 2, Droid Incredible, Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy line.... The Epic just has a slide out keyboard.. but A. with a 4+ inch screen why do you need a slide out keyboard and B. it's just some thing else that moves meaning it can and will break...

I think the slide out keyboard is a good move for people who don't like touchscreen phones (My wife and her love for the Blackberry) I could see my wife with a Epic just so she could keep her physical keyboard... It's not an EVO killer.. I think it's a great compliment phone for Sprint and the EVO....

Well said. Saved me from a lengthy reply lol...

As said a million and one times before, its all about preference. One phone does not "kill" the other, these devices are built mainly to appeal to different groups of people with different PREFERENCES. I have had every generation of the iPhone, short the iPhone 4 and am now an Evo 4g user and I couldn't be more satisfied. Just as how I prefer the Evo over the iPhone for several different reasons, I also prefer the Evo over the Epic... qwerty keyboards just don't work for me.

I been telling people for the past 2 weeks that it depends on what the person really wants in a phone, but I keep seeing people try and bash the Evo because the Epic is better at gaming. I just don't see what the deal is when you ask a regular person looking at the Evo, what make them want to get one and they say the usual stuff. The screen is big and easy to read and type with. If you tell them the Epic is better and has more speed, they just shrug there shoulders because they just want a basic phone to do basic stuff. Hell I got friends at my job with a Evo and have never been on the Android market yet, I showed them some good apps and games I got on my Evo, and they say they didn't know the market was for downloading. They just like the screen and how well the Evo performs for them for there needs. That's all I'm saying, I don't see why people keep making threads about both phones, its Sprints best line up and no other carrier has it locked like Sprint has right now. Great phones and prices is always a plus, no matter how better another phone is as long as you can do basic things.

I don't know why people get so bent out of shape when threads like this pop up. Technology is always improving and there's nothing wrong with being interested in newer, better stuff. Not saying that the Epic is better than the EVO, but it has some things that are better and some things that are worse. To each their own. As gadget freaks, which we all are, we will never be happy with the same thing for a long period of time. It's just irritating to see/hear people get so defensive when someone gets drawn away to another device. IT'S JUST A DEVICE! Get a grip already and let people gravitate to whatever moves them.
