I am having one hell of a time with the IDIOTS at Sprint and the EVO I returned to them. My original EVO bought on launch day eventually had light leakage and dust under screen. I called Sprint and they said they would send me an EVO (refurb'd). I asked for a new unit but they sent me a refurb. Well the refurb gets here and guess what light leakage and screen separation. I call Sprint (4x) and they eventaully paid Asurion the $100 deductible and Asurion sent me a Brand New EVO. I was told by Sprint to send my original EVO to Asurion and take the refurb'd unit to a Sprint Corp. store and turn it over to them. Well I get to the Sprint Corp. store and they won't take the phone and said they don't care what Advanced Exchange says. I get back home and call Sprint and the e-mail me a UPS tracking label (8-18-2010). I send the phone omn 8-19-10 and the phone was received at Sprint docks in Louisville, KY on 8-26-10. Sprint has since been harassing me about the refurb'd unit. I have given the UPS tracking# 3X to Sprint and they seem to not care. Well this month my bill was charged the EVO that I sent to them and while talking with them AGAIN they say they have not received the phone. I went to the UPS webpage and tracked the phone myself and they still say they have not received it. The are about as incompetent as they come. It's like dealing with ******s. I have had to file a complaint with the BBB and California State Attorney Generals office. I received a call from a Sprint Executive team member saying they will track the phone and the issue, obviously they have not. This has become a nightmare

You posted this once already, I know it, i just can't find it. Why are you posting it again?

I don't know what happened, but my Sprint store is beyond better than any other phone store I have ever gone to. They have really come around in the past few years and their customer service is exceptional IMO.

Because it's an on going process and it's STILL happening. It's been two months of constant Sprint Hell. They are incompetent and people should know with whom they are dealiing with. I should not be getting harassed for the last two months when I have all the documentation stating that I returned the phone. It's just a heads up for those who will encounter problems while dealing with Sprint and the EVO. I had not had ANY Sprint problems for 2 years until I got the EVO

You should have called HTC, they give us a year warranty from them and its free. No $100 for a replacements. AC should help make it known that HTC devices have a 1 year warranty. HOW I know, well after a few problems with my Evo, HTC told me i could have a free replacement because HTC gives a 1 year warranty.

Love Sprint..had an issue with my upgrade, they gave me a free month of service.
Whenever I want something done I talk to retentions..

You know when I did a phone swap with insurance a few years ago, they sent me a new Treo with a return envelope to send the broke Treo back. Maybe its a complete diff insurance company Sprint is dealing with. If so then God help us all lol

I had a seemless experience with asurion, but the OP's situation is a little different than just a simple insurance claim.

Sorry your having so much trouble I've been with Sprint for over 5 years and I have never had a problem out of Sprint. They have been nothing but accommodating to me and my needs. Hopefully it get resolves soon try not to stress about it they got the phone you got the proof so it is what it is!

I have had Sprint for 12 years and the last few months have been a nightmare. I have had 5 Pre's replaced since Feb (they finally replaced with a Samsung Moment) and now this whole EVO issue. It's a shame when you have to contact the Attorney General and BBB to get some help. I have always liked Sprint but their service lately has degraded as far as I am concerned.

Hmm, well good luck with the issue. Even though there must be some really good Sprint stores and employees out there, it looks like there are still some bad ones left over.

I just deal with sprint corporation stores only. After going to the closest sprint store that I have gone to for over 6 years, they told me back in April that they no longer had a tech person on hand and i had to go to the Sprint corp store to have my phone fixed. I went in with my Samsung instinct and they scanned the back of the phone, then told me to come back in a hour. No fuss or anything. So I just go to my sprint corp store for anything I need now.

Ah, that's why. Yeah, my corp store does everything for me too. I've been to an authorized retailer, but they are not nearly as good.

If UPS shows the package as received, tell Sprint that they need to file a claim with UPS.

Just seems like your returning a lot of phones... Maybe this could be the reason.

yup. i bet they flag certain people in the system as "problem customers" - and rightly so. we have a few here on these forums. you know who you are.

I had a similar type of problem a few years ago with Sprint.

I had two lines on the account at the time and bought a black berry off of ebay for one of them. I checked the ESN before hand with Sprint customer service and they said it would activate fine.

After I got the blackberry on the 2nd line and was using it for a month or two I got a sprint bill that had an extra $500 charge on it.

I called Sprint to find out that it was indeed the amount of the blackberry, I said I bought this off of ebay how can you charge me for it on my bill? They informed me that the person who bought the phones either used a stolen credit card or reversed the charges on their card. It was quite a battle from that point, needless to say I didn't pay the $500 and ended up with a month free of service and a free upgrade (I think it was to nights at 7pm but I'm not really sure).

What it came down to was they were at fault for not verifying the credit card signature in store, or not taking a signature in the first place to win a dispute with the credit card company. Even after I showed them screen shots of the ebay listing and my payment in PayPal they still thought I ought to pay twice for the phone, the only way I was able to come to any type of resolution was to speak with a supervisor and take all that person's information, I would call and check up with her every few days until one day she actually called me and said don't worry about it and sorry about your troubles, etc. etc.

I would suggest to you to call them, get an english speaking supervisor on the phone, get all of their information and tell them what you went through. It seems to me that places like Sprint are OK but the foot soldiers will just repeat the same BS you need to up a level or two to really get anyone who will listen or be able to actually do anything, good luck.

I guess Verizon isn't the only crappy carrier. Sorry this happened. I've had many problems with my Verizon store and their Android phones this year, as I've posted a few times around here.
