Evo vs Incredible

Yeah, you have to start the video, then hit menu--> more--> play in HQ

I just tried it, I'm home without my wifi on, and it defaulted to HQ... weird.

I think you would not see an issue with the front facing camer with 3G at all.. its only a 1.3MP (so its a webcam really) and *should* for video conferencing etc would work adequately as low as 128kbps (first commercial videoconferencing systems were at 64kbps)

and my 2c can be used to get the app that uses that camera..lol

I only say that because my service isn't the best on Sprint (I have a Pre), especially in my home area. If I'm on wifi, I'm good.

Contrary to you, I am assuming all will work on 3G..

1. live blogging.. a good app could scale the webcam resolution and frame rate to match connection speed...

2. upload to qik ditto

3. What was stated that EVO will default to HQ in 4G areas, not that it will not download HQ videos.. buffering time will be longer thats all

4. Hotspot is stated as both 3G and 4G

looks like the glass may be half full!..:)

I'd say more than half full with the EVO. Haaaa.

Not to mention that kickstand. Pretty cool (altho not important).

Aaah...I am liking this forum already...good fun! :)

You'll enjoy it after the book he wrote for you. I guess he's still recovering from those injuries. Never even said anything to the kid in this thread. Lmao :D

For the record, Qik works on the Hero without problem. No reason it won't work on the EVO in a 3G area.

The hotspot feature will work regardless of the area 3G/4G, just remember with 3G you have a 5 gig cap.

Perfect Info. Thanks! Not being in a 4G area I just needed some reassurances that the phone would not be severally handicapped by this.

Actually I just needed a hint of a reason to skip the Incredible and wait for the EVO although I am happy to avoid Verizon.

Thanks again!

You'll be fine. The 720p HD recording (aside from me not wanting to ever go back to Big Red) was enough hint of a reason for me. I love taking videos of my son doing whatever he does.

Edit: And battery

on this note- How much HD recording can be done on the device?
and will you be able to send movies clips to other (non-EVO) phones?

thanks

How is the radio in the evo? Is it better than the incredible? Is the radio better than the motarola droid? One of the few cons I have read so far about the incredible is that the radio isn't as strong as the droid and the incredible had a hard time locking on and fluctuated between 2 and 4 bars

I'm sure the amount of videos will be dependent on the amount of memory you have.

Sending movie clips... I believe you will be able to send them to "non-evo" phones and they'll be able to view it if their device is capable of viewing the format.

if your thinking of getting the incredible over the evo you are INSANE ... first off in a spec race evo beat the SH** out of the incredible and with verizon plans costing your a arm and a leg idk why you would chose that .... yea yea yea "but i have been with verizon for so and so years and i dont want to save anymoney" with the evo being the hottest phone this year and with the cheapest plan of only 70 bucks for everything you cant beat that...
