EVO with Ipod compatable earbuds

This seems stupid but my ipod earbuds, vmoda, don't control the volume on my evo. They have up, down, and the center button pauses the songs on Pandora. is there an app or setting to make them work? Also the mike shows on the notification bar but it doesn't work for calls either. Seems silly to have different standards for such a common item. Thanks. Bob

Go to the Home screen, tap Menu / Settings / Call / TTY mode and turn it on. Try the different settings to see if there is a difference but, start with Full.

IIRC back in the day, Apple modems (that were more expensive that PC modems) were virtually identical, but on the board side, Apple switched the TX & RX pins.

Someone with an Apple that was handy with a soldering iron could *mod* a PC modem to work with their Apple.

Ok, tty settings dont help the volume buttons and the mike now works with it off or on. Maybe the last update. Any other ideas? Thank you.
