All;

I've been an iPhone person for years and years. I also have a MacAir and iPads as do my wife and kids. I loved the quality of the hardware, I've never been that OK with the software and the whole walled garden that is Apple. I get it, but, I pay for the device, let me do what I want. I jailbroke each and every phone and was always so jealous of the software available for Android phones, but just did not like the hardware. Until I saw the HTC One. I was sold. I pre-ordered sight unseen and when it came last week, I was thrilled.

The final straw was a few weeks ago I just wanted a call blocker that would bounce work calls while I was out sick. I just wanted it to ring and ring. Of course nothing in iTunes, but I'm jailbroken! So I dl call blocker, which proceeds to brick my phone. 3 hours later I'm back, but that was it!

I honestly love the One, not only is it great looking and feels good in my hand, the screen resolution is fantastic, its crazy fast, the camera and vid are great. I use MOG and the sound through the speakers are excellent. I could go on and on, its that good.

I've poured through articles, threads and have been reading everything I can find. So what is the widget/app that is the one for you? Or any tips tricks for an ex-iPhoner would be appreciated. I have not yet dl'ed a launcher, but it looks like that is next. Thanks in advance and look forward to seeing what you all have to say.

Congrats on the One I actually came back to apple with the iPhone 5 after having four Android devices. The widgets I used most and customized the crap out of was beautiful widgets mainly for the cool clock and weather themes. If your going to check out launchers would definitely recommend Nova or Apex those are both awesome!

Well I have been an IOS use of every device for years as well and while I cannot profess for being a Pro at Android I must say that I am becoming more and more interested and thrilled in what I see especially with he hottest new phone out the HTC One.

With all of the reviews I have read I am totally impressed and considering one myself.
I am pasting a link that might help you ease the transition from IOS to Android. Welcome to Android Central:

Thanks man, I've heard the Nova launcher was the way to go, I think I will try that one.

Funny though, I left the iPhone and you went back to it. Maybe the grass IS greener on the other side!!! LOL. Like I said, I will never give up my other Apple hardware, nothing comes close, my opinion of course. I put Windows 8 on a PC I have and had to put back W7, I just could not deal with it. But some buddies love it. All I know is technology is great!!!

My son got the HTC One on launch day and it is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this phone. I have an iphone 5 and have stayed with Apple because I liked the retina display. When you put the HTC One next to my iphone, the retina display looks like a piece of junk. I have never bought a phone off contract but that is going to change soon. I cannot wait to get my own HTC one and sell this iphone. My son can get LTE where I only get Edge. Goodbye Apple!

My most essential app would have to be Alarm Clock Xtreme. I've had it on every Android phone I've owned since 2010.

Some other great apps are Zedge, Wallbase, Lookout, Gsam Battery monitor, and Shazam.

I would recommend Beautiful Widgets and SwiftKey but the HTC One already has a great keyboard and awesome clock/weather widgets.

Currently being sent from my Galaxy S III... Next will be the ONE!

lightning launcher / go launcher ex (I prefer either over Nova), wifi analyzer (see all the signals, watch them go in and out to find a sweetspot or the like), power toggles (quick access widget), file manager (any old random one.), The Bard's tale (self explanatory if you've ever played it.), Avast! Antivirus (best android antivirus currently), Go Keyboard (I prefer it to swiftkey), Mobo Video Player (my favorite thusfar), and jukefox (I like the smart shuffle) would be my recommendations.

Great suggestions all, thank you! I've dl'ed at least 4! Honestly, I had no idea there were this many options.

Nova Launcher
Alarm clock xtreme
Feedly
Google Drive
Google Keep
Smart-wifi Toggler
Swiftkey 4
Whatsapp!

Google keep (notes)
Whiteboard (on screen note widget)
Falcon pro (twitter)
Tapatalk (forums)
Google earth (awesome)
Moon phase pro (moon phase widget)
Track it (hurricane tracker)
Android photo widget ( a full screen frame widget)

Does Lookout actually work?

Does Lookout actually work?

It scans every app I have on a weekly basis and when I install new ones. That's what I wanted it for.

In addition to that, I get a report about all of it by email. I want to think that it's weekly. I also have it set up to where if I lose my phone or it is stolen, I can track it, make it scream, and save the location before the battery dies. It will also take a picture of someone who tries to get into phone after 3 incorrect tries and email the location and picture.

Really, it's more of for a just in case. However, I feel better knowing that it's there.
