I've had my SGS3 for about 10 days now and I think I am experiencing data connectivity issues, but I want to be sure I am not overreacting. I am having 2 issues:
First, I came from a Thunderbolt which seemed to hold a data signal much better. I could probably count the number of times it has dropped a data signal on one hand for the year and a half I had it. I'm keeping my SGS3 in 3G mode via Phone Info permanently (because I normally don't need 4G), and some days it drops the 3G signal for no reason 4-5 times a day. Other days, it doesn't at all. For instance, I will pick it up and unlock it, and it will go from a full -66 signal with full bars to the 3G icon disappearing and no data. It does come back quickly, however. I reset the SIM once after I noticed it one day, and it seemed to be better afterwards. Now its been a few days and the issue is reappearing.
Second, I see that people say they have a flawless 4G/3G hand-off. Does this mean that it will go from one to the other with absolutely no drop in signal? That's not how it works for me - if it goes from 4G to 3G, it seems to drop the signal momentarily.
I love this phone, aside from these issues. Are these 2 issues within the acceptable experience? I am more concerned around it dropping a signal out of nowhere, it is quite annoying. I can't decide if I want to try an exchange.
