First post.
I got an old unlocked G1 (Android 1.5) from my brother last week and have enjoyed it as an upgrade from my old Blackberry Curve. I'm having a problem with AT&T registering excessive data usage. In the past 5 days since my billing cycle started I've used 1.2GB of data. I used 40-50MB of data a month with my BB, with similar usage patterns. I have used the browser more, but I've also spent at least half my time on Wi-fi. I haven't done any streaming of audio or video, don't send pictures or video, and only send/receive maybe 20 emails a day. I've done maybe an average of an hour a day of browsing, again mostly over Wi-fi.
I spent a half an hour with ATT tech support this morning, and they weren't helpful. The rep agreed that something was probably wrong, but couldn't help me beyond verifying my APN settings and directing me to Google for support. The rep told me he streams 3 hours of audio a day and has never exceed 2GB a month.
Is there anything to explain the high amount of data usage, like background syncing or something like that?
