Google is IMAP not activesync....no?
@bignoze
Please provide an example of what you mean. I am also using EAS and so I'd like to offer you assistance if possible but I need a clearer picture of what your saying.
I'm using the same Google exchange settings from my iPhone days. That way I'm able to use the mail application and widgets instead of the gmail application for my emails.
Set Up Your Apple Device for Google Sync : Google Sync - Google Mobile Help
I will read an email on my desktop/outlook and for 10 mins or more it will still show unread on the EVO while my Pre and Ipad will update in seconds and vise-versa.
But if a new message is sent than the changes will show up........
also in the corner it shows the time of your last sync.......that time can span 20 mins or more with no update.
open your mailbox on the phone and do this
Menu > More > Settings > Send and receive > Schedule should be "as item arrives"
If you have EAS this will push the messages to your phone instantly when they hit the server
I personally don't consider it an issue. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's a battery saving mechanism to prevent constant network activity. As stated earlier, it updates whenever you send or receive a new message, or hit menu and click refresh. All my Windows Mobile phones worked the same way.
i have my exchange account to "as items arrive" but it will not push. It does not update until i open the application.
