Having issues with my Pixel 2 XL and I just chatted with Google. They suggested exchanging it at the store I bought it from in December. Isn't that weird? I mean sure if it's within the return time but.....

If you bought it from Google, they would exchange it. You exchange a phone where you bought it.

my phone is within warranty but I bought it on eBay. if something happens, where do I return it?:)

Bought it from Best Buy. I thought after the return period is over it goes back to the manufacturer? I haven't had to exchange anything lately. If I bought it from Google I wouldn't be starting this conversation.

What exactly are the issues?

Mostly things involving the USB-C port. I think this is why phones should still have a 3.5mm jack. You now use it to charge and listen to music and now Android Auto til wireless is popular.

I would try contacting Google again if you are having a hardware problem.

Google will exchange it. Since you didn't buy it from Google you have to send it back to them first. You may get a refurbished unit from them depending on how long you've had it.
