Exchange SF for the D2?

I have a Smasung Facinate, I really like the phone but I miss having a keyboard, so I'm still within the 30 exchange period and I'm thinking about exchanging the Facinate for the Droid 2. I'm really having a hard time wondering if this is a good idea or not.

If you miss the keyboard, then you should. I personally hated the Droid 2, I had a lot of weird issues with it. The battery was my biggest concern- it would get so unbelievably hot when I only had an app or two running. Plus I had a Facebook sync issue that would lock up my phone. I hate Motorola and I'll never go back- I'll always buy non Moto Androids from now on.

I had to get used to the all touch with the Fascinate, too, but I downloaded SwiftKey and it makes it a lot easier to type on.

It's really up to you though and what's important to you.

I have no issues with my D2.
Every smartphone I've ever had gets hot just like my laptops.

I have no lags, freezes, or random resets.

If you need a keyboard, then the decision is an easy one, IMO. You also gain more internal storage, RAM, and an LED notification light by making the switch. but lose the larger Super AMOLED display, and beefier GPU for future 3D gaming.

Yeah I really do like the AMOLED screen, but i have a hard time texting without a keyboard so I think I'm gonna make the switch. Thanks for your responses.

I'd return it and wait for the HTC Merge. MOTO makes cheap pieces of junk, and VZW knows this and will try to give you a hard time when you come in for something. I hate Moto phones like packetbacker as well. If the Merge is anything like the Incredible, it will be a great phone with a keyboard. The Droid 2 keyboard is better than droid 1, but no where near what blackberry gives you.

My droids never got hot and my Fascinate has never gotten hot. But my D2 burned up like crazy.

I hate Moto phones like packetbacker as well.

All the Motorola phones I've had were pieces of crap. I had some black flip hone ages ago, my mom had the same one, my brother had a Razr - we all had problems with them. That's why I was skeptical when my brother wanted a Droid (and there was a BOGO) because it was Motorola but he has had the same one since March and I went through a handful of them.

I did end up doing the exchange, and in a way I'm happy I did because I got a keyboard, and Froyo but I do miss the AMOLED screen on the Fascinate. I don't know if it was just the Fascinate I had but my D2 seems to be a little faster.

It's froyo and that crappy rfs partition sanding uses which has more issues than the stock Ext4 that Google built into Android
