Exchange support without a corporate account

I'm not really sure whether the device supports it. There's no reason the phone itself needs any sort of special internet access to connect to an exchange server itself. But I"m not sure if Verizon will block access unless you get the Business plan. I certainly hope not, I have at least one email service that I need to linked up through exchange but I don't need any special encryption or anything of the sort.

In short, can I setup exchange accounts without the corporate account?
