Hi,
I bought a 16gb Nexus 9, 2 weeks ago and it's already full.
What's the best solution to expand the storage. I mean a storage where I can install more apps and data.
I read about USB thumb drives but it was always related to photos and videos. Can I install more apps on a USB thumb drive?
Else, can I replace the internal 16gb storage by a 32gb (or more?) storage?
Thanks!

I really can't comment on the best way to expand storage, but I can say that this tablet has almost no storage in the 16gb version when compared to my n5 or n7 (both on kit Kat also). It fills up quick! All my same apps take up more space on the n9 and also the system files are bigger. The apps taking up more space is due to it running on ART runtime as opposed to the old DALVIK runtime I think. I suppose of I were to update my n7 to LP I would probably run into the same problem?

Sell it and get another. That's the only "upgrade" path Google has left us when they decided sdcards aren't supported.

that's about the size of it unless you want to fool with OTG cable's and thumb drives :(

You can root & remove some stock apps such as the email exchange and other useless ones such as that to gain some extra space...
I can live with my 16GB as I'm a minimalist when it comes to apps :)

expand the internal storage? no, I don't think there is a way to do that. but if you have any media i would say sync it to Google so its off the tablet but still accessible. google just increased the amount of songs you can store from 20k to 50k. I personally have not had a space issue since google music beta as half of my storage was music.

Aredubu has it right, that really is the best option for expandable storage using MicroSD card reader.
