Current G6 owner here.

Amidst all the buzz and leaked info on the V30, I feel like LG Pay has fallen off the radar.
Apparently, it has been rolled out in South Korea, but I have no idea how its doing.

I was just thinking that the August 31st reveal would be a sweet time to pull up the curtain globally on LG Pay (if it is ready).

Mobile payments continue to be a big thing as we head into the last 4 months of 2017. I think LG Pay debuting on the V30 and G6 would lessen the gap between the Galaxy and Note devices. Of course they can release it at any time, but why not when the world is paying attention to the reveal of your high-end device?

Expections?

Disappointment, angry posts about how the V30 is moving forward and not sticking to the past.

I expect like everyone a focus on the camera. Besides that I expect the promotion of Google Daydream support and maybe they'll include a Google Daydream headset in the preorders. But I'm not very interested in VR.

I used my nephew's VR when he got it for Christmas. Made me sick to my stomach.

Now that the leaks are out, the hype has been killed. Now that we see it looks like a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, there's nothing to look forward to.

Hopefully LG gets their act together and solidifies a release date on the day of the announcement. They love to announce a phone then say it'll be available "in the coming weeks." They need to have less than a 6 week wait to buy the device since Samsung definitely won't wait that long to release the note.

There are dates available

The phone is already finished, they're already in the hands of certain people (Joseph Gordon Levitt?). Right now, they are working on marketing and getting ready to sell it. LG has always been good with releases and hardly delays.

The g5, v20 and g6 were all at least a month before you could buy outside of i believe South Korea. The g6 was announced on Feb 26th, available on T-Mobile April 7th. It's been this way for their last several flagships and they really need to tighten up that launch window.

The only dates are the August 31st announcement and the rumored Sept 28th global launch. Nearly a month isn't good enough if the note beats them by 3 weeks.

Preorder for US is Sept 17th with expected sale date of the 28th.
That's much better info than the V20.

If they actually give the pre order and release date during the announcement that'll be a step in the right direction. Almost a month is better than 5 or 6 weeks so at least they're getting better lol. It will still hurt them if availability is 3 weeks after the note, but at this point I'm sure it can't be helped.
