I want to be able to mount my backup system.img files on my computer so i can strip out some of the icons/files/and other little treats from my system file. Installed a ROM that i like but i want some of my old icons and so forth back. Any easy way to do this? It doesn't really have to be "mounted" i just want to at least unzip it so i can access the APKs and icons. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure what the link says but I just pull the apk then open with 7zip and swap the icons. The sign the apk file and put back on phone and install.

I just had the old backup img. So I could not get the apk.

I found the file that is needed to extract these on XDA. I lost the link though
