Extended battery...the wait has begun.

How does that work? Do they supply a new phone back with a bulge for the larger battery?

If the battery is physically bigger, then yes they do usually come with a new back. Some of Seido's batteries, though, aren't physically bigger. The 3200 mA one probably is physically bigger.

Though, I've been hearing some wonky things about Seido's batteries not being as big (powerwise) as advertised.

Everyone that I have bought or seen does if it wont fit with the original back.

I got well under 1 day with my 1350Mah stock battery on my pre. When I went to the seidio 2600Mah battery I was able to get on avcerage 3 days (2.5-4 days depending on use). Thats well over twice the battery use for less then twice the battery size. This battery is going to be more then twice the size, BUT the epic is more power hungry. I am hoping for 2 good days of use out of the battery. If I get that Ill be happier then a pig in mud.

The stock Pre battery was actually 1150. Seido also sold a 1350 that fit the standard back, but may users found that that battery was actually 1150. In fact, users also found that the Seido 2600, was actually 2300. Even so, the 2600 should have been roughly twice the size of the stock battery.

So, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, but there seem to be a lot of threads on forums about Seido not labeling their batteries properly:

I stand corrected on the OEM size (been a while since I had a stock pre:o) I got the battery about 1 month into owning the pre as I couldn't stand the battery life and how it felt holding the phone. The thickness change was noticeable, but well worth it as it allowed me to grip the phone better as well as average 3 days of usage. I just hope that I see the same or even close to the same results with my epic. I am one of those users that cannot always get to a charger and the 600Mah battery boost can only do so much.
