Extending the home screen

Hi,

just got my new Lg G3, back to android after about 2/3 years with an Apple Iphone 4.

Really enjoying the handset, however at times it's a little laggy in comparison to my Girlfriend's iphone 5s...

My question is how do I create more home screen pages? If I remember correctly from my old HTC, I used to long press an icon and drag it onto a new screen?

I've been trying that and everything else I can think of on the LG and I just can't do it :-\ .

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

After long-pressing, don't you have to tilt the G2 to get another home screen? Perhaps the G3 is the same.
