External microphone stooped working

[Android Central Question]

Galaxy s9+
I have a "kinafun 2.4g"
External plug in microphone I've been using to record audio.

Recently, it just stopped working.
It used to notify me as soon as recording began that it was "recording audio through headset"
But nothing is working.

The device works on other phones.

And for this device, plug in headphones work just fine for audio playback, so I'm assuming it's not the jack either.

I have tried in safe mode to no avail.

I just don't know what else it can be.

Maybe try usb dongle were and connect through that ?

I could try that. Wasn't aware one existed for microphone jack.

But the bigger question is why/how did it stop working?
Was there an android update that killed it?
That's my only assumption

I use that a dongle connected to my USB c port on my newer phones so can use my headphones or aux cord ..works pretty good

That may not fix the issue.
But I found a definitive link.
It worked the day before this patch.
And the day after it did not.

Update G965USQS6CSH3
Was installed on 8/23.
That was the last time it worked just hours before this update.
Not it does not recognize any external microphone, even with open camera app

Hmm...so a update broke this
You can try go back or just wait until the next update?

You can try flash in Odin, and get the firmware from sammobile from previous date .
