External SD Card question for Captivate

Can I buy an external micro-sd that has 32gb for the captivate? or just 16gb? I know it has 16gb (well 14 really after formatting) 'internal sd card' so my main thing is does it only really support up to 32gbs all in all? Or does it support a 32gb external card plus the 16gb internal making it 48gb..?

I ask this because in the accessories section on the Samsung website under the Captivate, they are only selling 16gb cards as the top memory.

I bought and am using the 32 GB Sandisk micro SDHC.
Just turn the phone off and make sure you insert it properly - turn it back on and you are ready to go.

Well quite honestly, I think I am gonna go with an 8 or 16gb because of the prices. An 8gb is dirt cheap...and fast.

Yes, and you can hot-swap 8GB's all day long...

I use 2, one for pulling in new songs (faster than using the USB cable) and another for ripped movies that I watch while traveling.

Yeah, I grabbed an 8GB Class 6 from Amazon, it was around $25 shipped. Can't beat that with a stick.

Can you use the 16 gigs (minus 1.7 for apps and whatever else for the OS) for anything you want? Like, can I put music on there without adding my own SD card? I have a 4 gig and will probably upgrade to a 16 gig, but I just want to know for the mean time.

Yes, you can put whatever you want on it. The OS treats it like a separate SD card.
