any ideas why this happens and any way of fixing it!!!!

Go into the settings and make sure its not updating every hour. This is how its setup by default. I have mine setup so it doesn't refresh at all, but notifications are enabled. Whenever I open Facebook, I refresh it anyways so no need to have it refresh in the background.

Hope that helps.

I'm sorry but that was the funniest thing I've herd all day. Bravo to you sir! Yes make sure it doesn't auto update.

Did.you upload a picture or a video? I've seen that after uploading a picture not connected to WiFi.

I also set it to never update. The only reason I installed it was so I can upload pictures and video to Facebook easier.

I had the same problem with Google +. I ended up having to disable it and my problems went away.

what everyone else has already said.

i disable notifications completely. Only need to see updates when I actually open Facebook.

On the off chance that disabling auto update doesn't work(it should tho) another suggestion is to disable background data...also try an uninstall than reinstall...

Why are we talking to this dude? He is gone. Kind of like shouting into the wind.
