Facebook link redirects to playstore

So all of a sudden today when I click on a link on Facebook to go to a website it redirects me to the playstore to download an app. Does anyone know anything about this?

Does it do it on the same Facebook link in a laptop or desktop? If not, I'd suspect a virus on the phone. If it does I'd be surprised, because my wife would have asked me what's wrong hours ago.

It's on my fiancee phone also and only on phone

It's a form of advertising embedded into Web pages. Not sure what you can do about it.

Doesn't do it on the tablet just both lg g3s mine and the fiancé's

Maybe your Facebook setting for external links is set to use default browser and not Facebook itself. In this case, there could be something wrong with Facebook's detection of what your default browser is..

I would uninstall Facebook completely and start over.

Oh, I didn't realize carriers made that a system app.

Uninstall updates, clear cache and data on the app. Then update to the latest and see what happens.

I uninstalled and reinstalled didn't clear stuff but seems to be fixed
