Facebook messenger - how to save only incoming photos?

Hello all. On the facebook messenger app I have the "save incoming photos to my gallery" option checked. However currently it saves whatever I send as well i.e. if I send a pic I took from my gallery it then gets saved in the messenger folder, essentially creating a double of that pic. How can I only have the incoming fb messnger photos saved to gallery?
