Facebook Notifications Issues

Hi everyone
I am having an issue with my Facebook where once I have opened a notification "as seen", when I come back to new notifications, the last old recent ones are remarked as unseen.

This has been the same since I got this device last year August.

I have several Windows and Apple devices and my account on any of these others are fine.

I spoke to the Facebook help centre, but they haven't replied since as am presuming they are depending on their bots to fix the issue, rather than someone hands on.

Could any please help me with this.

Hmm, that is an odd issue! Sorry it is happening to you! Is your Facebook app up to date? Go to your Play Store app and see if there are any pending updates.

Try clearing the FB app cache/data in Settings>Apps, then open it again and sign back in.

Yes, I have my updates on auto, but I often update everything once its on my mind and I got nothing to do.

I tried this after seeing your message, but am not sure it worked, as I have at least two notifications which have come back, but part of that same issue is that sometimes I open a notification and when moving to the next one, it stays unread where usually though I have to open them a second time. They normally stay open.

Perhaps try uninstalling Facebook and then installing it again? See if that changes anything. Keep us posted!

So sorry I've taken so long to reply.
I have just reinstalled the Facebook app and I will give it a week to see if it has settled the issue, but am sure I did this before as a standard procedure.

I never thought that after uninstalling it, rebooting and reinstalling, it would revert back to the same problem.
The thing is, these notifications were opened on this device, yet I have just opened my IPad and all the notifications I had opened have rightly stayed open.
So I can't put it down to a Facebook issue.
