Factory Data Reset - Improved Battery Life

In the search for a cure for the BSOD issue, I did d factory reset yesterday AM. The change in battery life has been , well, nothing short of amazing. I went 10.5 hours with moderate usage and still had 70% battery life left on a standard battery.

The handset behaves much differently now as well. Snappier. PITA reloading apps and rebuilding screens, but the Google data came back really quickly.

Seems the initial activation and setup leaves a lot of garbage in the memory and some misbehaving apps that kill battery life.

If you try it, remember, YOUR DATA and D/Led APPS WILL BE ERASED.

Good Luck,

RMD

This is very interesting. I am curious if this helps others and also if the added benefit stays or slowly erodes as bloatware tries to get its space back.

Read in another forum a poster installed a "log app" and found that he had two system functions that were both accessing the cpu at a rate of 2-3 times per second. He did not give any info further defining this "system functions" but he did say that a Factory Hard Reset totally cured his issue with battery life.

I'm tempted to factory reset my EVO shift. I get sick of seeing the HTC white screen when waiting for my on-screen to load.
