I really want to do a factory reset on my LG Stylo 3+ but I'm having anxiety about it. I have done a factory reset on a past phone where my phone service was with Tracfone and I was no longer able to use my phone as an actual phone. Like I couldn't call or text anyone any longer. I dont want to have the same problem happen again. I'm now with MetroPCS as my phone carrier. I still need to have this phone to communicate with friends and family as I have no backup phone. I understand The fact that I'll lose all the accounts I have on the phone and whatever pictures I have on the phone as Well as misc files that are not in a SD card. I understand that because I do a factory reset in my Tablet that I have once in a while. I have no problem with losing the files I have on my phone but I dont want to lose the service in my phone and I'm not tech savvy. Can someone tell me in a simple way if I can do a factory reset and not lose my service or if I do a factory reset, I will lose my phone service?

If you purchased the phone from Metro PCS, then you shouldn't have any problems.

What you described from your Tracfone experience sounds like an APN problem - you reset the phone, but it didn't have the information it needed to access Tracfone's services. That shouldn't happen with your current phone unless it was purchased unlocked or was initially programmed for a mobile carrier other than Metro PCS or T-Mobile.

Even if something does go wrong, it's easy to fix. Just Google "Metro PCS APN," then configure your phone as directed.
