So I hosed my phone; I'm doing too many things at once and not being careful with my hacks. :(

I was running DL09, rooted, stock ROM from Verizon. Yesterday I flashed to DL30, using ODIN and CWM Red. Everything was fine, other than I was getting some random crashes and weird system hangs. My thought was that if I did a Factory Reset (which i know Cory recommended prior to flashing), I would start fresh and be good to go.

I did that, but now i'm starting a the "Samsung" logo and a woman saying "Convert data partition, system is not available. Convert system partition, system is not available."

Any quick path back to life? Help is appreciated always.

The female voice is Voodoo reformatting your internal memory. Did you flash a voodoo kernel and not disable the lag fix? The process with the female voice takes about 10-20 minutes to complete, but there are no voodoo kernels for DL30 that I know of, I would say flash back to a DL09 voodoo kernel and DL09 rom, disable lagfix, let it boot all the way back up (that 10-20 minutes), then go back and reflash your DL30 just to be safe. Not sure why it would boot up if you goofed the voodoo.

Thats the thing I don't understand, I didn't 'intentionally' install any Voodoo mods. I followed the DL30 procedure (PC/odin version) in this board to a T, and I don't know where the Voodoo came into play.

I let it sit at the Samsung screen (after the female robot voice) for about 45 minutes, no change. Every time I boot it up I get that same voice -- this is nuts.

Unfortunately I am experiencing the same exact problem as you. Mine was prompted when I tried to perform a backup via Rom Manager. This sucks I really don't want to flash back to DL09 then back to DL30 again. I just finally got all my apps reinstalled and all my settings the way I like them.

I flashed back to DL09 using odin, and I'm up and running again. I'll probably upgrade to DL30, but for now at least I can call people.

I did the exact same thing yesterday. the fix is to flash back to DL09, then flash DL30 again..worked like a champ. BTW, thank you guys so very much gor all the hard work and information. on another note. to use the phone as storage: settings>usb settings>choose "ask everytime". whrn you plug the phone up a screen will pop up with a button" connect usb storage"...viola usb storage worky worky

Running into the same thing here. Could someone please point me to DL09 file and flash instructions?

I can';t seem to get ODIN to flash since I can't get to the recovery screen. I just get (from ODIN):

<OSM> All threads completed (succeed 0 / failed 0)

OK, I've got everything downloaded. Since I can't get to the recovery screen (Volume control plus power doesn't take me anywhere), how do I get ODIN to access the phone?

Not sure how to ask the question...I can't get to recovery menu. Screen just sits with Samsung on the screen for almost an hour now.

Download Odin

Pull the battery from your phone.

Plug in your phone to the computer, start Odin...

Push the down volume button on the phone and this should connect Odin to the phone.. you will see the downloading screen on the phone (yellow)

Using the PDA button in Odin (make triple sure you use this button {{{not phone}}}) select the DL09 tar file you downloaded and then press 'Start"

This will take a few minutes - When done put the battery back in and and it will be like out of the box.. this will take a few minutes to load as well.
