Factory reset - life afterwards !!

I have some annoying glitches on my Android phone - like Notification sounds not always sounding when phone puts itself to sleep and also sometimes phone not becoming silent when I use a Silence timed app. So I am going to do a Factory Reset to try and sort things out.

After doing a reset (and in case I'm not offered the option of restoring from Google Drive) I would obviously like to avoid re-setting all the apps I use. So, I have taken a copy of among others, the "Android" folder and also the "Whatsapp" folder. Would it work ok if, having done the reset, I just substitute any of my backed up folders for the ones that will be installed on my phone's internal storage - will this work??

Oh, as an extra question, I only use my phone on Wi-fi. Why is my phone using mobile data even though Mobile Data is "OFF" in settings and all apps are individually blocked from using data?

I have a Doogee phone running Andoid 8.

Copying and restoring those folders might work for some apps, but may not for others -- it's hard to know until you try it.

The question of mobile data usage cropped up recently -- assuming it's very minimal amounts of data, it's most likely a system app that still needs to access something via mobile data intermittently, perhaps to ping the network to ensure its stability. If this is impacting your data plan and causing you to pay more, then there may not be much to be done besides turning on Airplane Mode until you actually need the cell network.
