Factory reset

I have tried to factory reset the phone by going to the recovery menu but when I press the volume down button and power button but nothing happens and it just turns on like normal. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help.

i think i read you need to press up or you can do a factory reset by going into settings as well

This is the exact issue I'm currently having. Holding the volume down button and pressing power, as all the information on the internet says, simple isn't working. Please let me know if you figure it out!

I found the factory reset under the privacy settings. Go to settings and look for the privacy tab. You will see the option there.

i just did a factory reset in this manner and it actually seems to run a little better now... not that long a pause when launching diff apps....

Press and hold Volume Down + Call button press and release the power button.
