Factory reseting my phone

i downloaded the gingerbread theme from the market and its running a bit slow and want to factory reset my phone

will i lose my root if i reset?

If you're fully rooted no. With a temporary root like Z4root yes.

I would try removing the app/theme first.

Ya you shouldn't need to do a factory reset. If you downloaded it from the market it should be just a app. You should be able to delete it and reboot your phone. Just go to MyApps in the market, find the theme and delete it there.
