Factory unlocked Galaxy Nexus

I own a factory unlocked Galaxy Nexus. for some reason i never get updates. when i go to check updates there are none. many carrier locked nexus's are using ICS 4.04 and I am still at 4.01. how do i get updates?

Try this. I didn't reboot I went and checked for updates after clearing data. Also it depends on what build you have. Download GN Official Update Checker from the Play Store. That will tell you if Google updates your phone.

Go to Settings>Apps>ALL
Scroll down to "Google Services Framework"
Clear Data
Restart phone
Wait for boot process and hope for a notification
If you do not get a notification, check for updates.
Repeat if it didn't work.
