I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, I have just about tried everything else and I still get this error. Is there any other way around this? I'm thinking this has a great deal to do with my not being able to get into Clockwork recovery. Even trying the manual technique, always take me into Android recovery. I have copied and pasted all the commands correctly using ADB, but still no effect even tho I am rooted(possibly permanent). Help please, Thanks in advance.

did you not use the normal one click clockwork recovery?

its a lot easier and should work. if your holding down the volume +camera and then power on. it will take you to the android recovery. then hit apply update.zip from sd card. it should take you to clockwork but if it says authentification error - signature failure then your doing somethign wrong.

but for some reason people keep saying its supposed to take you straight to clockwork, and thats not the case. well for me at least

Look at the instructions i wrote for you on the other thread, see if you followed that correctly.

I was getting the same thing a couple of days ago when I was trying to get Clockwork Recovery installed. Had no issues getting root access, just couldn't anything that wrote to the sdcard during the install to run. 3 things to look at:

1) This is a gimme, but make sure you have USB debugging enabled. (Settings>Applications>Development>USB debugging)

2) Ensure that when your connected to the computer, that the sd card isn't mounted (ie, you can browse the card via the computer). If it is, the phone can't see it and in turn, adb can't push the file to it. Mine ALWAYS auto-mounted; so, the best way I found is to pull down the status bar and tap the usb "pop-up" and turn off SD card as mass storage.

3) This is the one that was the final fix for me. Make sure the SDK is installed with ALL packages.

Here is a real good guide from the XDA forums on the subject:

Nice i learned a thing or two from that.
But its funny how peopl just can't follow directions and put the sdk in the right places and the root/clock files in the right folders. They all have play by plays
