Falsified battery shots

I notice I see a lot of people touting their battery life, but they post screen shots of their supposed battery life and idle, standby, are HUGE battery drainers but the screen was low on the power usage.

From personal experience, I know for a fact that the screen uses more battery than anything else WHEN YOU ACTUALLY USE THE PHONE.

So why front and misrepresent your battery life? What good does that do?

I'm seriously curious.

I don't consider them falsified, and don't believe it's done maliciously, but rather a perfect example of different peoples phone habits. Suppose someone rarely wakes their phone and rarely talk on it, and posts a 2 day battery life. If thats their regular device usage, those numbers arent invalid at all. Maybe they rarely use their phone and get exactly 12 hours a charge. Then they flash a kernel, have the exact same usage, and get 2 days. Is that invalid? Nobody's stats are really relevant minute to minute to anyone but themselves. Their battery improved despite how they used the device. If someone is purposely not using their phone to pad stats then thats different.

To me, the 1 thing that makes me not pay any attention to stats is lack of consideration for network connection. Network signal strength makes or breaks battery life. CDMA takes a harder hit then GSM. We could have the same exact usage stats, on the same phone but if my network connection is better then my battery life will be longer.

Thats my 2 pennies anyway

Good point, but I saw one yesterday and the person said "i was on this thing all day" but the biggest user of battery was idle and only 19% was the screen lol
