Well,
I was hoping to ride the unlimited data train but my nexus has been feeling buggy lately and battery life has been turning to crap even with the extended. I was due back in May but was too stubborn to lose my unlimited data. Well, walked into Radio shack for a mouse of all things and they were having a sale this week only on S4 for $150, then they offered a 15% military and a $30 trade in on my nexus making it roughly $100 for a brand new S4. I had to walk home without it though since it was a not planned move (will go back tomorrow) and I have 1762 photos to get off my phone along with putting back on the back panel and standard battery since I use a Otterbox Defender and had to have back panel off. So, as I sit here waiting for everything to copy off my internal storage to my laptop I figured I would let the folks know who even remember me that I will be moving on to a new phone. I am still wrapping my head around losing my unlimited data but looking at my recent usage I really don't need it anymore. I guess it was more a nice thing to have as a backup but not end of the world. Anyway, looking forward to getting it tomorrow and wish you all the best of luck with your Nexus.

Good luck with the S4. I am trying to hold out for the Note 3. The S4 looks like a decent phone, especially when it came out. Seeing as I wasn't due an upgrade until 8/15, I was never seriously considering one, unless possibly if my phone blew up. I will most likely be saying goodbye to unlimited data as well. It's more about changing habits as far as when to watch videos and download huge files. I may consider the G2 as well.

Good luck. I just preordered a droid MAXX and will be leaving the nexus here soon too. I hate leaving the nexus, but battery life was just killing me. Luckily I was able to maintain unlimited this time due to our corporate contract, but I am not sure i really need it. It will be nice though, with the battery life I get, I will see how much I stream the google music (free for 6 months).

Same boat as you friend. I'm checking out the Maxx at a store once it comes out. Or whenever test units are in store. My GNex battery life has been horrendous. Along with random restarts and closing out of apps randomly. It's time to move on.

Not even an hour and a half on battery and I went from 99% to 67%. I can't take it anymore.

Unless something better shows up between now and December I'll be choosing between the DROID maxx and the note3. Battery, cell radio, and screen size are my biggest factors.

Nope, no streaming. Mostly reading these forums and bleacher report. It is very frustrating, but that is almost over. Just waiting for Verizon to ship.

even with my brightness barely to its lowest level, extended battery, phone just isnt holding up anymore. i have to charge it twice a day now, some cases 3 depending where i am. i havent bothered adding any new apps or putting music on the phone as i know its bound to all get wiped and stored any day now.

im surprised we havent heard any kind of announcement of new OS, thatll help shine light on a possible new phone.

i want the moto x but customized so i have to wait for verizon til they get their options. the phone is barely holding on, taking forever to load things.

Alas, I am in the same boat. My GNex seems to be getting buggier by the day. I want to get hands on with the One this week, but I am still undecided on a new device. I have been holding onto my upgrade since May. I have never had an upgrade for this long :D

I have eliminated the Moto devices, as I would prefer at least a hope that the BL could be unlocked at some point. The LG G2 is also a possibility.

I wish it was an easier decision, so I could pull the trigger...LOL.

They'll have to pull my unlimited data from my cold dead hands. I'm over 60gb for this month and still feel like I'm paying too much. If I had to get rid of it due to poverty I'd stick it on ebay for several hundred.

I won't buy anything so close to holidays. I'll make my purchase by Christmas, same as GNex. New Nexis will get my money and if there isn't an LTE version again my N7 can hold me over.

And have you tried 4.3 yet? It makes my Gnex feel a year younger! I think another year will keep my cheapness happy.

They cracked the bootloader on the last Razr generation. Also, you'll regret getting an HTC if you want to stay up to date. Take it from a Bolt owner. Just look at their update situtation with the One and One X.

One: US is stuck on 4.1.2 with HTC "working hard" (ha, they said that about ICS for the Bolt and that took almost 8 months) on 4.3. EU is 4.2.2. And the Google Play Edition is 4.3.
One X: US variant stranded on 4.1.2 but the EU version gets 4.2.2 AND Sense 5.

The One may have excellent build quality, that's hard to deny, but HTC is very, very likely to leave you stranded and in the dark.
