Its there a way to tether wifi to a PS3

Nope, not natively. PS3 doesn't support ad-hoc wireless network connections.

You may have success in tethering a laptop to the phone via ad-hoc, then using the OS to bridge the network connection, then connecting your PS3 to the laptop via network cable.

That's all theoretical, no idea if it would work. You'll get more help on a PS3 forum.

That's how it is. I've been able to successfully get my PS3 online by tethering my Fascinate to my laptop and then running a patch cable to my PS3. It's definately not a convenient as wifi tether would be, but it works.
