Fascinate Available In White

Anyone interested in a white Fascinate? Not my thing, but maybe it's yours. I wonder if they redesigned the back cover to be more scratch resistant? It scratches so easily I can't stand it.

What the heck? I thought that was Apple and HTC's thing, not Samsung's! I thought Samsung's signature color would be black.

Looks to me to be the exact same phone with an eBay'd white back cover from China. Just IMO though.

Personally, I think the iPhone and the Fascinate/Vibrant have more in common than not. I almost feel like they designed the phone intentionally to give Verizon some ammo for customers who are considering the iPhone. The white version is just another example of that. In regards to software, thank goodness for customizations that circumvent the similarities. Now if we could only do a hardware hack to add a notification LED, which is another thing the 2 phones have in common.

That is true to an extent. But when its all said and done, the Galaxy S phones have one sure edge over the iPhone. Android.

That in and of itself sets these phones leagues apart from the iPhone.

There was a thread over at XDA about the Vibrant being hacked to add a front-facing camera... Surely a notification LED could be added, too

I think the whole "just put a white cover on the back" is stupid. Make the whole thing white. Looks crappy to me.

I had an iPhone for a while last year, mainly for a development project I was doing, but the thing I liked about it was the form factor. The Fascinate is really similar, especially the way it easily slides in/out of my pocket. I think the size/weight/feel was a major factor in why I chose it over the X.

I'll pass on the white though.
