While we're on the subject, I'm a C-17 loadmaster at Charleston AFB. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the update. I really hope it's Froyo! I'm currently running dj05 and it's working great but it's time for an update.
 
The more I think about it, the more I think this is not going to be froyo.US Cellular just announced their Galaxy S phone will update to froyo in March and their Galaxy S is almost identical to the Fascinate. It appears that Samsung just released it to the carriers recently, and we all know Verizon isn't going to be that quick at getting it to us, especially with all the fuss about them announcing the iphone on Tuesday. I suspect it really is just a maintenance release. I hope not, but it probably is.

I miss CAFB. Was a fireman there from 01-05. Loved it. As for this update, my phone is running great with A deodexed DJ05 anything better is just a plus. All I want from froyo is full flash capabilities.
 
With Tuesdays rumored announcement, it would be wise for Verizon to actually make the strides to keep their Android customers happy... Unless the plan, is to make them pissed off and everyone spend the extra cash to buy the iPhone...
 
Did anyone check wiki leaks. They can leak government secrets, but can't tell us if Froyo is coming.:p

Holy crap that was funny. I just spewed wine all over myself and phone when I read that! Thank you for actually saying something to lighten this debacle.

Call me skeptical but I think this is a joke. Probably one of the many annoyed Samsung or Verizon reps that are hassled by the impatient Fascinate owners whipped this up to screw with everyone.

This was my chat with a Samsung Support agent. Quite disappointing really..

Adell Coulliette III: Hello Kyle, I was wondering, I have a Samsung Fascinate, and there has been a huge buzz going on that there is going to be a froyo update for the samsung fascinate for verizon tomorrow, January 10th. Do you or any other representatives have any knowledge of this>

Kyle: I understand that you are looking for Android 2.2 for the phone. Am I right?

Kyle: Unfortunately there is no update available at this time for the phones, nor is there an estimated date of one being released. We are unable to speculate when/if a software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Kyle: Samsung did not mentioned any ETA of the update for the phone.
