Someone needs to make a boot animation for us with the android robot in a chefs outfit, screaming "no froyo for you!". It would have a samsung logo on the hat and a big red ok the coat. He is our update nazi.

Why would you be mad more than any other day, because someone you don't know posted a screen shot that said a date and time,That wasn't official, that wasn't from samsung, that was barely from verizon. What makes today different?

Take it with a grain of salt bud. Androids biggest problem as a platform is fragmentation. So many phones with every carrier running different software builds. Frankly, it's the primary ace card Apple can play at Google's, and ours, expense. Take it with a grain of salt and do what will soon come natural to you. Flash custom roms and kernels to really unlock your phones potential. You'll be glad you did and you won't find a friendlier group of people willing to help you than right here.

ah dang it!!!! my tractor sank!!! i put it int the water to float it to my new farm in greenland and it sank straight to the bottom. turns out the float to greenland feature requires 2.2 to work!!!!

I know a lot of folks are anticipating the FroYo update to include me. But I didn't believe the screenshot when it was posted. To be honest, you're not missing much. The GMail app is better and .... Oh there is flash player. That's overrated anyway. I like watching my videos in full screen. Using Flash makes me think I have my BB Tour all over again. Gang, FroYo does have some benefits, but not enough for all the craze. The custom ROMs/Kernel/Themes out there are far better. I would say a most of you would load it up only to re-flash DL09 until the developers catch up. I have FroYo on my DX. I use my Fascinate more than I do it because it is just a better phone and it doesn't have FroYo.

I can't be mad. Was never informed by verizon or samsung directly that I was getting an update. All the update talk us making me strongly consider root. With that in mind I can't seem to relocate some info I found on flashing the rom. Can someone point me in the right direction please.there's just to much info to sort through on my phone and I only have my pc on the weekend as I'm working out of town. The rom I'm interested in I believe is jts super clean I see it gets good reviews. Time to see what this flashing thing is all about!

Unfortunately, in order to flash any ROMs, you have to flash Clockwork Mod with a PC first, so you're limited until you can get that

No problem. I just want to learn more about it so I don't have to spend hours online when I get home this weekend researching. I'd like to just get home have a quick flag process and go on spending time with my daughter before leave again.

I have been trying for the past half hour to get someone at verzion through the website live chat (so i could post the transcript. Appearently the only way to get someone now is to pull a rep from the sales team while buying something. However Verizon's store page is down for phones. Everytime i click on Smart Phones or Feature phones i keep getting Page is Unavailable....
