Has anyone considered that maybe this was originally a scheduled update for Jan 10th but was moved (see screenshot) to a later date due to some issues at least that is how I viewed the screenshot when it was posted.
Based on the date's added being accurate I do not think this is the case. We should see MR2 hit today, which most likely will not be DJ05 or DL09 nor will it be Froyo. I am thinking this MR will be something between DL09 and Froyo which will allow us to use Samsung Kies. I spoke to Samsung earlier today and was told that Kies will not be usable until an update is launched for our phone, but why else would they just have recently added it to software downloads if they did not intend to provide updates from the program? And seeing how the OTA Froyo is bricking phones I think we will get that via Kies. As for why I think DJ05 and DL09 won't be MR2 is that neither of those work with Kies so it has to be something else that enables the use of that.
Means nothing. Consider US Cellular's SGS... they arent getting froyo til March. I wouldnt be surprised if ours was at least close to that long from now. This update (if it comes today/soon) will *not be froyo*!!!
one more thing, from the front page: "[Samsung] will be announcing a successor to the Galaxy S line this February at Mobile World Congress." Who's taking bets on the SGS getting retired before froyo drops... "Oh you want the latest android version? Time to upgrade!"
I got this phone in October. Has it ever been updated at all since its release?
Sadly it appears the update, when it drops, is not FROYO but FOGOTBOUTYU. You know Samsung has just announced the Galaxy S 2 and , well, no need to update this series of phones. We can all just trade up to the new ones hahahahaha...Right? Right?
