Fascinate: no internal memory and twlauncher force close cycle

Recently my Fascinate started constantly closing and restarting twlauncher. whenever I try to open an app or return to the homepage, it calls for a force close. I did a hard reset to the phone, no change. I then attempted to download the GO Launcher, but found I couldn't because the phone is reading no internal memory. That's not possible, as all my old apps are gone. Now I can't download anything to fix the twlauncher problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Were you running a voodoo kernel prior to this? The internal memory issue happens when a voodoo kernel is replaced by nonvoodoo without converting first

I have to be honest, I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not very technical. It's possible that it's the case, I just don't know how to check for it.

reboot into recovery. select voodoo from the list, then select both disables, restart.

When I attempt that it gives me the "Downloading...Do not turn off Target!!!" screen. It's been sitting there like that for 15 minutes.

Are you holding down both volume toggles, or just the down one? You are in download mode. You can pull the battery and try rebooting into recovery, it won't hurt anything.

The screen that comes up has nothing about Voodoo on it. It's options are:

reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

At the bottom is the android with a ! triangle above him and the error message

E:can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
(Invalid agrument)

It also states I'm in manual mode. Not really sure what that's about.

Lets get a little history on the phone...

What build and baseband are you on? You can find this in Settings>About phone
Have you always had the phone, or did you get it from a previous owner?

What will most likely have to happen is you will have to flash back to stock

+1 sounds like at some point you were running a rom and then tried to return to stock.

if you are not worried about losing any data on your phone you can use Odin to return to complete stock and this should fix all your problems.

otherwise we will need details on what modifications/ root / or roms you may have attempted to use.

Alright. I hate to sound like a noob, but I need to know what Odin is.

Odin is a PC program that is used by Samsung to flash firmware onto their Android devices. Basically you connect your phone to your PC via USB and use Odin to flash ROMs, modems, etc.

Alright. I downloaded Odin Multi Downloader v3.95.exe. And I'm lost again. What needs to happen now?
