Just got my S9 from the US (I'm in Europe) and it takes 30 min from 89 percent to a 100. My friends galaxy S7 takes 30 minutes from 40% to 100 percent! It does say fast charge but it charges slow!! My one plus was charging way faster. Can it be the problem that I use an adapter since it's an American plug?
It takes up to two hours to go from 50% to 100 (in my eyes thats not called fast charge!!)
When I charge it on my laptop it takes 5 hours, I find this to be extreme slow.
Sorry!! I meant 30 min from 40% to 100% on the S7. (edited!)

First of all, your friend's S7 cannot charge from zero to 100 in 30min unless the charge limiter is broken. It's using QC 2.0, which means 0-60% in 30min. Which means his battery is broken or degraded very heavily.
Second, American wall outlets are 110v, while Euro are 220v. I don't know how that will affect the adapter, but it probably would.
Third, OnePlus does charge faster, because the S9 uses a variant of QC 2.0, while OnePlus is using a variant of QC 3.0

My S7 takes over 1 1/2 hours to charge from zero, no Samsung phone is capable of that.

Rapid/fast charge slows down as the battery nears a full charge.

The USB port on your laptop is probably the equivalent of an old 1amp charger, it's far slower than any phone charger in the last 5 plus years.

Yes, I know about the laptop charger, but it still charges way way slower than any of my old phones. I am just wondering if it's the adapter or a problem with the phone...

The Samsung chargers are rated for 110V to 240V. So all you need is a physical pin adapter from the European plug set to the US two pin.

You do not need an adapter/transformer device which also converts the 240V to 110V.

Huawei and Oppo have the fastest chargers in the world. Can charge from 0% to 100% within 30 minutes.

GALAXY S9 fast charger are using the same old technology from Note 4. From year 2014.

Some rumors are saying Galaxy S10 might use the same tech from Note 4 also.

Maybe becuase of Note 7 explosion.

Thanks all, so the charging time I have is normal? Today it went from 50 to 100 in 1H 10 min. I don't think thats fast? I just wanna know if mine is defective or these times are normal.

It shouldn't take that long from 50 to 100 maybe restarting the phone get everything back up working again.

I think it's related to the use of their Exynos processors, Qualcomm quick charge is SOC dependent and they keep feature parity between regions.
