Fast charge not working this morning

I keep my battery running between 20-80% full and always charge it first thing in the morning before I head out. It takes roughly 30 mins on fast charge before the phone is ready for the day. This morning my phone got stuck in slow charge on the stock charger for some strange reason. It won't switch to fast charge even with unplugging and reboot. Does anyone know what caused this? Now the fast charge is working again. Thanks.

It seems to depend what the battery level is when you plug it in. It won't necessarily go directly to fast charge every time. The phone also gives you a green light at 90%. My sense is they have taken some steps to optimize charging and reduce stress on the battery with subsequent software updates (which is a good thing), but haven't necessarily made an official announcement about it.

Could be the phone, charger or cable. Have you tried using another cable and/or power delivery charger to see if it will fast charge? My pure white wouldn't fast charge but I figured out it was just the charger. Essential sent a new charger and cable.

I only have the stock Essential charger and the stock cable that came with the phone. So I have to figure it out with the Ampere app. What should be the correct wattage and ampere readings on the charger if it's working properly?

Ampere should show between 2000 - 2500 mA when fast charging.
