I suppose a very straight forward question.Ive taken the plunge and bought an LGG4 after having my Samsung s6 stolen. Will my Samsung 6 quick charger work with my G4 or will it ruin it ?
Kind Regards

Only if you install a QI charger coil as only NFC coil is standard.

I think the post is referring to the wired rapid charger which will work fine on the phone and will rapid charge the g4

Just got LG G4 yesterday. It apppears that fast charge doesnt happen unless phone turned off.The charge is less rapid than S6 im guessing because its a larger battery.

The g4 doesn't support fast charging at the same rate as the s6 or note 4/5 of approximately 50% in half an hour

It also seems finicky in general, at least for me. IF quick charge works, it's only with the screen off. I have an Aukey QC 2.0 car charger that started giving me issues when I moved from the M8 to the G4. The M8 worked great, even quick charging with the screen on. The G4 at would sometimes do it as others reported with the screen off, but sometimes not. When Quick Charging, it was still at a slower rate than the M8. Sometimes it would charge lower than the stock charger. The charger ports were loose, so I thought that was the issue. I got the charger warrantied and tried the new one today with the same results. Even using the new cable that came with the charger, rates have been mixed. At one point I left the screen off, only streaming a podcast through the AUX cable, and the charge level remained at the same point for ten minutes. On the OEM charger, I could be gaming and the phone still charges at least a little.

The phone isn't officially listed as QC2.0 compatible from what I've seen, but I still have the same sort of problems with the non-QC2.0 port on that same charger (It has one of each). So maybe it's the design of the charger itself, but something isn't jiving.

When I had the g4, I was getting maybe 36% in half an hour with a quick charger. On the stock charger it would do about 30%.

During my non scientific testing, which included an ice pack directly on the battery while charging and also holding the phone inside the freezer while charging, the best I could do was about 1.2%/ min with a quick charger vs 1%/min with the stock charger. A 20% bump over stock is about all the quick charger can get.

I have to agree with Tourbound129. I compared the charging time with the stock charger that comes with the LG G4 and the so called "rapid charger" purchased from Verizon. Going from 3% battery life to 100% charge, the "rapid charger" was only slightly faster by only approximately 20-25 min. Not enough to win me over. I returned it to Verizon the very next day.
